3d printed 5 cylinder radial engine

3 weeks Mon-Fri 9-5, almost non stop printing. By far the biggest and most complex thing i'v printed. I highly recommend this print. I've learned so much and am WAY more confident in my printer now. Its awesome. =D Heres the model- http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:52769
First print, 6 hours
all the white pieces done! Onto the grey!
first batch of grey, starting to assemble
why part cooling is important, even with PLA
a piston... need 5 of these.
the cam housing almost done printing.
starting to look like an engine!
at this point i can spin the rod and watch it dance. Way cool.
the timing gear and cam fit perfect, smooth too. Really impressed.
this is why i avoid grouping stuff, 17 hour print failed. At least i still got the rocker arms out of this group.
these survived the 17 hour failed print... so i guess it wasn't a complete failure. The brim is way thin.
the brim is tissue paper thin... almost.
so, back to individual 5 hour prints. This is 5 seconds of real time printing. Was moving at 120mm/s plus i had the speeds turned up to 150% from the LCD
Its finished!
this has the rods on. The rods, however, they are a little too short and fall out when the engine spins. I'll fix em... eventually.
i like watching this piece dance as the engine is cranked.
Sitting on the bed of my RigidBot Big.
here is the engine being cranked. Once i fix those pesky rods, the valves will even move =D
